What is the difference between the UGC exam city slip and the admit card?
- The exam city slip is issued 7 to 10 days before the examination, while the admit card is issued 2 to 4 days before the exam.
- The exam city slip provides information only about the city where the examination will be held, allowing candidates whose exam city is far away to depart in good time; the admit card, on the other hand, contains precise details, including the exam city, the name and address of the exam center, the examination shift, and so on.
- The exam city slip is not a valid document for appearing in the examination, whereas you will not be granted entry to the exam without an admit card.
Documents required to be taken to the exam center
- Admit Card Printout – One of the most important documents to carry to the examination is the admit card/hall ticket. Only the admit card printout obtained from the official website will be valid.
- Valid Original Photo ID – After that, you will need to carry a valid original identity card along with a photocopy, so that your identity can be verified. Instructions regarding which ID cards to carry are provided in the Admit Card or the Information Bulletin.
- Photo – The admit card contains guidelines regarding the photo. Read these and ensure you bring the latest photo. If additional photos are required, bring them with you.
- Transparent ballpoint pen: Ordinary blue or black pen.
Exam Day Instructions
- The admit card contains the exam center address, as well as the exam date and time; please check these details carefully.
- Reach the exam center well before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card, as entry will not be permitted once the gates are closed, and you may end up being unable to take the exam.
- Before entering the exam center, ensure that you are not carrying any items prohibited for the examination, such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any other restricted items.
- Be sure to read the updated information bulletin regarding footwear, clothing, and other safety regulations.
